Weaknesses:  Kessa, 'Sailor' Kurisutaru is not strong. Her body is fragile and can't take a beating. Kuri lacks speed and must often rely on her shape-shifting ability to rescue her. She has an un-natural fear of the dark and anything dealing with death. She has nearly incurable insomnia and is in constant fear of her father's spirit finding her.

Goals:  To overcome her fears, learn hand-to-hand combat skills and become a professional dancer

Fears:  Dark, cemeteries, funeral homes, her father's spirit

Personality:  Kessa is rather outgoing, despite her shy looking appearance.  She's got pretty features, but is no raving beauty. She doesn't like funeral parlors of cemeteries because the bring back bad memories of her father. She is afraid he didn't go to heaven or hell, whichever he was meant to go to, but stayed in this world to torment her. She has a fear of the dark and has incurable insomnia. She is rather moody but most of the time it's for the better moods. She'll do pretty much anything and say pretty much anything and is kind to her mother and sister.

Normal Appearance:  Kessa has short black hair with little bits of silver mixed in here and there. She has misty grey eyes that seem to mirror the outside world. Her whole body is thin and fragile and looks as though it can't take a beating. Kessa is very pale and looks paler still in the sun-light. She can't ever seem to get tan or have any color. She's on the small size at 5'2" and 115 lbs. Her mother is continually trying to get Kessa to gain weight but it seems to no avail. She loves showing off how pale she is and can usually be found in dark grays, blacks or blues. Typically, Kessa will wear a black turtle-neck sweater, dark gray skirt, black leggings and dark gray shoes.

Senshi Appearance:  Kurisutaru's fuku is the original white body-suit with a multi-colored glitter speckling the suit.  A holographic silvery material colors the top layer of her fuku skirt. Underneath that, a second skirt of black sticks out, falling about an inch lower. Kuri has black thigh-high boots and no gloves. Two wide silver streaks frame either side of her face and a necklace with the ring hangs around her neck. Her collar is black and choker is the silvery material as well.

Powers Based On:  Mirrors, Crystals

Henshin Phrase:  Crystal Power, Make-Up

Transformation:  A rain of tiny crystal shards fall all around Kessa, gradually getting larger in size until they form a tight cage around her. The crystal turn to silver and form a mirror like bubble and then it shatters in an explosion of light, leaving Kuri holding her mirror.

Powers

Kurisutaru Crystal Reflection:  Sailor Kuri can mirror whatever she sees, be it human, animal, in-animate, whatever, for a maximum of 2 hours. Only a burst of energy that hits her directly will make her return to natural form. She must avoid mirrors when she is like this, because they will reveal her true identity. Kessa can use this power as well, but not nearly as effectively and the image only lasts for an hour.  Note: This power drains Kuri and she returns to normal form no matter what state she used it in.

Kurisataru Shards:  A rain of sharp crystal shards falls all around. They can cause severe damage and pain. These shards can be blasted away individually or a shield will make the bounce away. This power can be used more often as it isn't quite as draining as the shape-shifting power.

Weapons/Equipment

Crystal Mirror - a mirror given to Kuri by Queen Serenity during the Silver Millenium . This mirror has the ability to show true identities and it help reflect enemy attacks made on Kuri.

History

'Sailor' Kurisutaru was Queen Serenity's body-guard during the Silver Millenium. She was like a protective shadow and was able to blend wherever the Queen went because of her shape-shifting power. Naturally, that power was intensified by the Queen so Kuri could stay like that, without draining her own energy, for as long as she needed to protect the Queen.

Later, for her services, Serenity bestowed the Crystal Mirror on her faithful body-guard, so to allow the Senshi's fragile body dome protection.  Kuri was one of the first people to die during Beryl's attack and was then re-incarnated on Earth, to be re-awakened when the time was right and do whatever was needed of her.

Kuri was reborn on Earth to the Choujo family as Kesshou or Kessa. Her father, Asahi, was a factory manager. He was a cruel man, taking out years of pent-up anger on his family. Kessa was almost routinely beaten. Her body, once strong and healthy, deteriorated under her father's harsh rule. For some reason, he was harder on Kessa then on Kessa's mother, Yuri, and her younger sister, Amamizu.

Yuri helped support the family by making traditional Japanese kimonos for tea ceremonies and kabuki theater. Kessa discovered a natural ability to embroider the kimonos and do it very well. When Asahi died, Kessa felt guilty, as if she had caused his death. She spent her wakeful nights wandering Tokyo. She was out one night and came upon a gang, the Akki or Evil. They chased Kessa into a dead-end alley and circled her.

Kessa was suddenly bathed in light and turned into 'Sailor' Kurisutaru. The Akki fled and Kessa returned home, confused. The only thing that remained of the eerie night was a ring with a holographic like gem in it.

Shortly after that, Kessa moved out on her own. She didn't want to be a financial burden to her mother any more and being of legal age, she found a small apartment to rent. Everyday after school, Kessa goes to her mother's home and works on kimonos. The only thing nice her father ever did was put aside a small fortune which was for Kessa to finish at her private school and go on to college.
